Lagoon City is located just outside the Town of Brechin Ontario on the East side of Lake Simcoe, 10 miles North of Beaverton, 20 Miles South of Orillia and 100 Miles North of Toronto.

Sometimes called "Canada's Venice", because it has 6 miles of Lagoons. It is kind of a Retirement/Boating/Cottage community of some 3000 people.

In the winter some 1/3 of these become 'Snowbirds'  In the Summer, espcially the weekends, I can see some 150 or more boats pass by my balcony, both Motor Cruisers and Sailboats. In the Winter there are Cross-country Skiers, Skaters, Hikers and Nordic Walkers'

 

When I retired here in 2002, I was impressed with the 'Park Like' appearance of the area. Well kept Cottages, Condos, and High End Homes, all have private boat docks with access to Lake Simcoe, Trent Canal and even the Caribbean.  'A great place to smell the roses'
